Today, communities across New Zealand come together for Daffodil Day, supporting the Cancer Society and the many people and families whose lives are affected by cancer.
For many of us, cancer is not something distant. It has touched our families, our friends, our colleagues and, for some, our own lives.
The daffodil has become a simple but powerful symbol of hope. It reminds us of the importance of standing alongside people during difficult times and offering practical support, friendship and care.
These are values that resonate strongly with Freemasonry. Charity is not simply about giving money. It is also about looking after one another and contributing positively to the communities of which we are part.
On Daffodil Day, the Brethren of Lodge Tawhiri No. 166 acknowledge the work of the Cancer Society, its volunteers and supporters, and all those currently living with cancer or supporting someone through it.
