Remembering WBro Bruce Charles Lye

Remembering WBro Bruce Charles Lye

It is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of WBro Bruce Charles Lye on Friday 23 October 2026, following a short illness.

Bruce was a Past Master of both Lodge Tawhiri No. 166 and The Taupiri Lodge No. 118. He served as Master of Lodge Tawhiri during the 2004–2005 Masonic year, and his name remains on our Roll of Past Masters as part of the Lodge's history.

For the Brethren who knew Bruce, his passing marks the loss of a fellow Freemason and Brother. Through his involvement with both Lodges, he was part of the fellowship and traditions of Freemasonry in Hamilton and the wider Waikato.

As we remember Bruce, we give thanks for his years of service to the Craft and the contribution he made to the Lodges of which he was a member.

Our sincere condolences are extended to his wife Janette, his family and friends, and to all the Brethren who mourn his passing.

A service to celebrate Bruce's life will be held at Woodlands Estate, 42 Whitikahu Road, Gordonton, on Saturday 31 October 2026 at 11.00 am, followed by interment at Huntly Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Hospice Waikato.

The family's death notice published in The New Zealand Herald is available online.

We remember WBro Bruce Charles Lye with gratitude for his fellowship, his service and his place in the history of our Lodge.

Rest in peace, Brother Bruce.

So mote it be.
